Manager  Finance (General Finance Program) Job

Our well-established Summer Intern Program will provide high-performing MBA students with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in projects that have strategic, operational or financial significance to the company. During a comprehensive Summer Event Program, interns will meet line of business and Finance leaders from all levels and have a chance to learn about the culture and values of the organization as well as network across regions and functions.
Outstanding performance during the internship will result in an offer to join American Express on a full-time basis after completion of the MBA curriculum.

Please note that this posting is for MBA candidates for the Class of 2012; the internship will be during Summer 2011. Your intern placement will be either in New York, NY or Stamford, CT.

Manage relationships in a complex global matrix organization
Identify trends and make recommendations from a wide array of data sources
Anticipate information demands and establish analytical support
Work closely with business unit leaders within a quick turn-around time frame to ensure timely and meaningful decisions
Obtain a comprehensive understanding of the business and its needs

Required Qualifications:

BACKGROUND
Active participation in a MBA curriculum
Self-motivated, dependable with excellent academic credentials
Record of outstanding performance

DESIRED SKILLS AND STRENGTH
Demonstration of the highest standard of integrity and professionalism
Strong analytical, problem solving, and decision making skills
Strong leadership experience
Strong interpersonal skills, including ability to communicate and build relationships at all levels
Change management experience
